It is legal to unplug debtor from running water?

The Czech Supreme Court is clear about this. Not the Slovak one (or I don’t know about such a ruling)

🚿 Sometimes my clients – managers of apartment buildings – ask me if they can disconnect a non-payer from the water supply. I am quite cautious about this topic in Slovakia…but finally in the Czech Republic the Supreme Court clearly said yes.

Of course under certain conditions (= in this case it was technically possible to disconnect one apartment). And there are a few factors that influenced it and the circumstances would be different than in Slovakia.

🤔However, it’s more about something else. The Czech decision-making practice is richer than the Slovak one. The courts there are not afraid to think and make non-conforming but justifiable decisions.

🐱‍👤 Courage is one of the elements that is missing in this country. And not only in the decision-making practice of the courts.
